Here's to you MOM!!!

"She speaks wisely.
She teaches faithfully.
She watches over family matters.
She is busy all the time.
Her children stand up and call her blessed."
(Proverbs 31:26-28 NIV)
Chocolate Chip salutes you, MOM!!!
It is almost overwhelming to contemplate a mother's unconditional love and nurturing support. Mothers are truly a gift from God. Where would we be without them.
I am inspired by my sister, fellow Jack & Jill moms, sorority sisters, friends and loved ones who are Super moms making it happen for their families. I learn valuable lessons from you daily and become stronger because of the strength you exhibit. It's an honor to raise our families together. You are my role models and inspire me to be a better mom to Brooke and Ryan.

To celebrate moms today, Chocolate Chip shares with you the Wall of Mothers https://www.wallofmothers.org/, an interactive photo gallery paying tribute to mothers and mother figures everywhere from CARE, the "leading humanitarian organization fighting global poverty". CARE understands the power of healthy mothers and their impact on ending poverty worldwide, so while we celebrate moms today be inspired by their work and inspire others to help stand for women and girls everywhere. Post your photo and send an e-card of your photo with your special Mother's day greeting to all the phenomenal moms in your life. While doing so you'll also spread the news about CARE's great work around the world. "It only takes a minute to honor your mother and help empower another!"

Lastly, we're sharing an excerpt of She © 2009 by Alice Walker published in Ms. Magazine http://www.alicewalkersgarden.com/alicewalkerpoems.html

I see you in the lines of this poem. Wishing you a blessed and wonderful day that showers you with all the love your heart can hold....

She is the one who will notice that the first snapdragon of Spring is in bloom;...

She is the one who warms your home with her fragrance;

the one who brings music, magic & joy.

She is the one speaking the truth from her heart.

She is the one at the bedside wedding, funerals or divorce of all the best people you dearly love.

She is the one with courage.

She is the one who speaks her bright mind;

She is the one who encourages young & old to do the same....

She is the one who is there.

If they come for me & I am at her house I know she will hide me.

If I tell her where I have hidden my heart she will keep my secret safe.

She is the one who without hesitation comes to my aid & my defense.

She is the one who believes my side of the story First;

She is the one whose heart is open.

She is the one who loves.

This post is dedicated with love to Shirley A. Fearon, my mother, soror, inspiration and friend.
